The design
The sentence "much ado about mu" is a combination of William Shapespeare's famous comedy "Much Ado About Nothing", written in 1598/99, and the Japanese pronounciation of the character 無 (mu).
Mu plays an important role in Japanese Zen. It could be translated into "nothingness" or "non-being" but its implications are deeper and easier to experience than to understand. Mu can refer to the letting-go of the ego, often expressing the very rejection of duality itself, which is a tricky thing to attempt using human language. In other words, it is a Zen concept that many Zen enthusiasts are busy trying to grasp only to disover that there was never anything to grasp in the first place.
