Who is Kokin Denju?

We are a team of designers, creators, Japanese and Japanophiles united by a deep appreciation for Japanese culture and, specifically, Japanese arts and crafts.

Japan is a country where the old and the new exist side by side, creating a culture unlike any other. Ancient traditions like Zen art and ukiyo-e meet the energy of modern innovation and style. This coexistence is what makes Japan so special – and it’s the inspiration behind everything we create.

Our name 古今伝授 (Kokin Denju) refers to the secret teaching of the Kokin Wakashū, a classic Japanese poetry collection. It was passed down privately from master to student to preserve its deep meanings, techniques, and cultural importance.
